New Delhi: Popular Bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal has breathed his last on January 22, 2021. The 76-year-old veteran singer died at a private hospital here on Friday following some health complications.

According to PTI, Narendra Chanchal died around 12:15 pm at Apollo Hospital. He was admitted to the south Delhi hospital on November 27 and died after suffering from brain complications, sources added.

Narendra Chanchal is known for his devotional songs. He also sang a few songs in Hindi movies. His track Beshak Mandir Masjid for 1973 film Bobby won him the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award. He also earned honorary citizenship of the US state of Georgia.


Chanchal, a regular at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Jammu has performed there several times. He sang many superhit Mata bhajans and the most popular one being 'Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hain Mata Ne Bulaya Hain' from 1983 film Avtaar.
