New Delhi: Following the demonetisaion of the old Rs 500 notes and the launch of the new one, the Reserve Bank of India has also launched the security features of the same to prevent any counterfeiting.


The new Rs 500 notes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series are different from the SBN (Saving Bank Notes) – one that was withdrawn- in colour, size, theme, location of security feaures and design elements, as per the RBI.


The Reserve Bank further states that the new note is 66mm x 150mm, while the colour of the note is stone grey and the predominant new theme is Indian heritage site – Red Fort.
