Indian Stock Market Holiday: On Dussehra in 2023, the Indian stock markets, BSE and NSE, will be closed for the entire day. This means there won't be any trading in the equity, equity derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segments on October 24. However, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will have a different schedule. MCX will be closed for the morning session but will open for the evening session on the same day, with morning sessions from 9 am to 5 pm and evening sessions from 5 pm to around 11:30 or 11:55 pm.

Looking ahead, there will be two stock market holidays in November: Diwali Balipratipada on November 14 and Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 27. Additionally, there will be a special one-hour 'muhurat' trading session on November 12, although the exact timing is yet to be announced.

In December, there's just one holiday to note, and that's on Christmas, which falls on December 25. So, the Indian equity market will be closed for a total of three days in October, including the weekend, as it was also closed on October 2 for Gandhi Jayanti.

As the year comes to a close, it's important to be aware of these stock market holidays to plan your trading activities accordingly. Keep in mind that market holidays can affect trading schedules and liquidity, so it's a good idea to stay informed about any updates or changes in the trading hours from the stock exchanges. This will help you make informed decisions and manage your investments effectively in the coming months.
