Amid Opposition uproar, Arun Jaitley calls demonetisation move well-planned, rules out rollback
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday ruled out any move by the government to roll back demonetisation and said it was a very well-planned and executed exercise.

New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday ruled out any move by the government to rollback demonetisation and said it was a very well-planned and executed exercise.
Reacting to the Opposition's call to rollback the move, Jaitley told ANI that there was 'question of rolling back the Demonetisation move'.
The whole thing (demonetisation move) was a very well plan and executed exercise, he told the agency.
He also complimented the officials of the banks and their employees for a commendable job.
“I would like to compliment the officials of the banks and their employees who ahve done a commendable job”, Jaitley told ANI.
In seven working days of which one was partly a holiday, they have dealt with crores and crores of customers. Money's have been deposited, money's hve been withdrawn, he said further.
He also said that ATMs on a war-effort are being calibrated with their their technicians calibrating about 22,000 ATMs a day.
Reacting to cash crunch, Jaitley assured that there was enough cash as printing of notes, more than adequate, as done by the Reserve Bank and the government much in advance.
Jaitley also told ANI that rush has come down in the last seven days and there was no panic now. He also expressed concern that some people were inconvenienced.
The finance minister also told the agency that he expects the opposition to this move as it would the country's formal economy.
The BJP-led government has been facing an uproar from the Opposition following the demonisation of Rs 500 and R 1000.
With the Winter Session of the Partliament starting today (which was adjourned), the Opposition has called on the Prime Minister for a debate on the move.
