Satya Nadella was born on August 19, 1967, in Hyderabad. He went to Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. Nadella tried to get into the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) but couldn't pass the exam. Instead, he got accepted to Birla Institute of Technology (BITS) in Mesra and Manipal Institute of Technology. He chose Manipal and got a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1988. Later, he went to the University of Wisconsin -- Milwaukee and got a master's degree in computer science. Nadella also did an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
