8 Game-Changing Govt Women Empowerment Schemes In India

Women Empowerment is like helping women grow and be a part of important decisions. It's about giving them the same chances to learn and succeed in society, and saying no to treating them unfairly just because of their gender. Here are some programs in India that are all about making women stronger and more independent.

The Central Government initiated the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It started on May 1, 2016, and aims to provide free cooking gas connections to poor families. This helps both rural and urban Below Poverty Line (BPL) families so that they can benefit from it.

In 2015, the government introduced the Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme. The purpose of this program is to give the female kid financial support so they can follow their ambitions and pursue their education. Women who are mothers of girls are eligible for this program.

Under the plan, women who are expecting or nursing can receive up to Rs 6000 in cash help.

The Women Entrepreneurship Fund Scheme was created in 2020 by the government of India. The Women Entrepreneurship Fund Scheme can be helpful for female entrepreneurs who want to launch a firm but lack the necessary capital.

The Women Empowerment scheme called Mahila Shakti Kendras started in 2017 to help women by providing things like healthcare, good education, advice, and job opportunities. It aims to make these opportunities available in different areas across the country, like blocks and districts.

The Women Empowerment scheme called Nari Shakti Puraskar started in 2016 intending to make women stronger in our society. It aims to support organizations that help women progress and develop in different aspects of life.

The Women Empowerment Scheme, known as the One-Stop Centre Scheme, was launched in 2015 to help women facing violence, whether it happens at home or in public. This program aims to assist women in reporting incidents by helping them file First Information Reports (FIR/NCR) and provides emotional support through counseling services.

The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme was started in 2015 to stop the unfair practice of choosing boys over girls before birth, making sure that girls stay safe and get a chance to learn and take part in various activities.
