Customers of the State Bank of India (SBI) have lately been warned by the Public Information Bureau (PIB) about phoney mails purporting to be from SBI officials claiming the recipient's YONO account has been blocked. The recipient's YONO account has allegedly been blocked, according to a false communication purporting to be from SBI, says PIB.

Never reveal your banking information in response to emails or SMS requests, advises PIB. It went on to say, "If you receive any communication that looks like that, report it right away to report.phishing@sbi.co.in."

Never text any personal information, such as account numbers, passwords, or any combination of sensitive information that could be used fraudulently, advises the SBI website.

If you receive a text message requesting that you update your details, activate an account, or confirm your identity by phoning a number or entering information online, proceed with care. The bank warned that these messages might be a part of a phishing scheme used by criminals to obtain your private account information and commit fraud.
