Here’s a quick look at the 10 most downloaded apps in January 2021
Telegram has become the most downloaded non-gaming app worldwide for January 2021 with more than 63 million installs, 3.8 times its downloads in the same month a year ago, according to the latest data released by the app analytics firm Sensor Tower.
Facebook Messenger
Popular messaging platform owned by Facebook has secured the 10th spot on the list.
Snapchat
Used mostly by youngsters, Snapchat which was created by former Stanford University students Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown has received the ninth position on the list.
MX Takatak
The Times Group-owned short video platform MX TakaTak, which claims to have over 7 crore monthly active users, got the eighth position.
Zoom
Zoom, the California-based firm coveted the 7th position and it is widely used for teleconferencing, telecommuting, distance education and social relations.
The Facebook-owned photo and video-sharing social networking service became the sixth-highest downloaded app on the list.
WhatsApp slid to the fifth position from its earlier third place, in January due to its controversial privacy policies which brought a lot of brickbats for the company.
Mark Zuckerberg led Facebook has been in news for quite some time and it has now evolved into one of the biggest social media platforms on the planet.

Developed by Signal Technology Foundation and Signal Messenger LLC, the encrypted messaging service allows users to send messages in form of texts, images and voice with the help of the internet.
TikTok
TikTok emerged as the second most installed non-gaming app worldwide last month with close to 62 million installs.
Telegram
Telegram has become the most downloaded non-gaming app worldwide in January 2021, with 24 percent of the total downloads coming from India. The messaging app was downloaded 63 million times (which means India saw around 15 million new Telegram users in January, going by the percentage given).
