IN PICS: Honda City Hybrid e:HEV, gets 26.5 kmpl mileage - Check design, cabin, space & more

The Honda City e:HEV hybrid-electric vehicle is the first mass-producing hybrid car in India that promises to fill the gap between ICE and electric vehicles with India's nest 26.5 kmpl mileage. 

The Honda City e:HEV is based on the top-spec ZX trim of the regular ICE-engined Honda City and gets Honda Sensing ADAS technology in the India for the first time. 

The new Honda City Hybrid retains the cabin design and most of the features from the City, apart from few Honda Sensing elements, whose buttons are added to the steering wheel. 

The Honda City e:HEV hybrid will get an eCVT gearbox only mated to the 1.5-litre petrol ATKINSON cycle engine. 

The rear seats of Honda City e:HEV hybrid sedan offer the same space as the regular City, which is marketed as a mid-size sedan going against Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna among others. 

The 1.5-litre engine of the City also gets a self-charging battery setup with two motors and a combined output of 126 PS and 253 Nm with a mileage of 26.5 kmpl (claimed).

This is not the first Hybrid car from Honda as previously Honda Accord and Honda Civic Hybrids were sold in India. However, this car debuts the e:Electric powertrain of Honda and Honda Sensing technology. 

The Honda City Hybrid retains most of its design elements from regular City, with few changes to the front including a new grille, new sportier fog lamp enclosures and Honda logo at front and back with blue highlights indicating green energy.

The Honda City Hybrid gets a lithium ion battery stored in the boot space along side a space saver tyre, reducing the boot space by almost half.
