iPhone 14 launch: Notchless display, camera upgrade and all the rumours and leaks you need to know
iPhone 14 camera
Apple analyst Kuo also expects that Apple would convert to a 48MP primary sensor rather than the 12MP that it has used for the past few generations. This could imply that the new phones would use pixel binning, in which several pixels are clustered together to act as one for improved low-light performance and details.
iPhone 14 display
The base and Pro editions are rumoured to have a 6.06-inch display with a resolution of 25321170. The Max and Pro Max could have 6.68-inch screens with a resolution of 27781284. Only the Pro Max will have an LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) display. Except for the cheapest model, all will have displays that support a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The entry-level model will have a 60 Hz LTPS (low-temperature polycrystalline silicon) display.
A16 chips for iPhone 14
According to a report, Apple plans to focus more on M2 chips, so only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Max Pro will continue to use the A15 chip. In order to avoid criticism, Apple will reportedly slightly alter the A15 processor and rebrand it as an A16 chip for the other phones.
iPhone 14 look
In September 2021, prior to the debut of the iPhone 13, Apple leaker Jon Prosser posted renders of what he claimed would be the iPhone 14. The rumoured design resembled a supersized iPhone 4, complete with flush back cameras, a thicker body, and Titanium sidebands.
iPhone 14 redesign
Unlike the iPhone 13 series, which offered a minor design improvement over the previous model, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman predicts that the iPhone 14 series will be a "total overhaul." According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 14 series could do away with the phone's now-iconic notch, which the firm initially introduced with the iPhone X in 2017. According to Kuo, the iPhone 14 Pro will be the first iPhone to include a hole-punch camera cutout for the front camera rather than a notch.
iPhone 14 mini coming?
As per Mark Gurman, Apple may discontinue the small iPhone in favour of a Max-sized model. But, like in recent years, Apple will release four variants: a standard-sized model, two "Pro" models, and a new "iPhone 14 Max." This could imply that the iPhone 13 mini is the company's final mini "model."
