The National Informatics Centre has launched a new instant messaging platform, Sandes. 

It is believed that the Indian government has launched its own messaging app against WhatsApp.

The good thing is that it is developed completely in India and the chances of stealing data from this app and breach of privacy are extremely low.

Apart from this, there are many other great features in the country's messaging app Sandes, which even WhatsApp has not been able to provide till today.

Sandes app gives you more option in profile creation.

Users can also add their birthday and profession details in the Sandes app.

You do not get this feature in WhatsApp. WhatsApp is barebone when it comes to profile details.

You strictly need an active phone number when registering yourself with WhatsApp. You just can not use WhatsApp without a phone number.

Sandes offers the flexibility to either use a phone number or you can register yourself with an email address. 

There are many users who are not comfortable sharing their personal phone number with everyone, in such a scenario Sandes gives them a better opportunity to be discreet about their phone number and yet enjoy the app.
