Well-known stock market investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has his eyes both in the air and on the ground. While his much talked about venture Akasa Air is slated for a summer launch, his opulent 13-floor home in Mumbai is now becoming the talk of the town. Jhunjhunwala bought the building --called Ridgeway Apartments-- at Mumbai's Malabar Hill from Standard Chartered and HSBC. Both the banks owned 6 apartments each in the building. Moneycontrol said that Jhunjhunwala is constructing an opulent 13-floor home in the building. He is going to have an area of a whopping 70,000 square feet, Moneycontrol added. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's home for a family of five
Another ET now report said that some mid-size rooms, bathrooms and storage areas will be there on the first, second and third floors. It further said that there could be plans to build a lobby, foyer and a football court on the ground floor while the basement will be reserved for parking. Moneycontrol said that on the 4th floor is a banquet hall that the family purportedly can use for large gatherings and functions. Jhunjhunwala will have amenities like a gym and massage on the The 8th floor. The 10th floor will have 4 large guest bedrooms while the 11th floor will be dedicated for his children. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's master bedroom spans across 731 square feet
Jhunjhunwala and his wife would reportedly use the 12th floor for their living. With spacious rooms and luxurious amenities, the bedroom that Jhunjhunwala and his wife would use is bigger than average 2BHK. Moneycontrol reported that his master bedroom spreading across 731 square feet is 20% bigger than the average 2BHK sold by builders today. Jhunjhunwala's bathroom will be apparently as big as an average 1BHK being sold in Mumbai while his living and dining room is larger than several 3BHK luxury apartments in the financial hub of India.
