A look at Bollywood celebs` drug-related controversies

The investigations into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death has taken most of the Bollywood celebs under the scanner of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Many drug-related chats, confessions have emerged recently and some prominent Bollywood stars have been interrogated.
It started after actress Rhea Chakraborty was questioned and later arrested in a drug-related case linked to her boyfriend Sushant's death. She allegedly named Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and fashion designer Simone Khambatta and accused them of consuming narcotics substances.
New revelations in Bollywood drugs nexus continues to shock many. Here's a list of some celebrities who have been named in drug-related controversies.
Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone was questioned for her drug chats with manager Karishma Prakash in October 2017.
Sara Ali Khan
Sara Ali Khan confessed before the central probe agency that she briefly dated Sushant. She also told the NCB officials that she would often visit Sushant's 'Capri Heights' residence in Mumbai and added that she accompanied him on his trip to Thailand.
Sara also disclosed that she had been to Sushant's Lonavala farmhouse several times. However, she categorically denied taking drugs, but admitted to smoking cigarettes sometimes. The actress added that Sushant did consume drugs.
Rakul Preet Singh

Simone Khambatta
Simone Khambatta is Rhea's friend and a fashion designer by profession. She was also questioned by the NCB.
Shraddha Kapoor
Shraddha Kapoor enters the NCB office for interrogation. She denied consuming drugs and also dismissed the allegations against her.
Sanjay Dutt
Sanjay Dutt has admitted to consuming drugs. He has been quite vocal about his drug addiction. He was also sent to a rehabilitation center in the US.
Fardeen Khan
Actor Fardeen Khan was arrested for drugs possession in 2001. He is the son of late veteran actor Feroz Khan.
Kangana Ranaut
While Kangana Ranaut claimed that most Bollywood celebs consume drugs, an old video of her claiming that she "used to be a drug addict" recently went viral on social media. The video was taken in March 2020 during Navratri when Kangana was in her hometown Manali. It was posted on her Instagram account.
