Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi, Emraan Hashmi's Chehre and other BIG Bollywood films postponed due to COVID-19 second wave
Weekend lockdown, night curfews, rules of 50 per cent occupancy of cinema halls and rising number of COVID-19 cases are the major reasons of concern for movie makers.
Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi, which was originally supposed to release on 2020 Eid has once again been postponed. The film which was rescheduled for release on April 30, 2021 will now not be released on the given date.
Superstar Akshay Kumar, who helms the film has also been tested COVID-19 positive. Co-star Katrina Kaif is also COVID positive.
Haathi Mere Saathi
Rana Daggubati's Haathi Mere Saathi release date has been postponed because of the COVID situation. "Dear viewers, it pains us to share this news but given the COvid-19 situation in the Hindi markets, the team of Haathi mere Saathi has decided to hold on to the release of the film. We shall keep you posted on further developments. However, we will be releasing Aranya and Kaadan in the South markets on 26th of March," read Eros Now's official statement.
Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer crime thriller ‘Chehre’, which was all set for a theatrical release on April 9 has been held back. The makers will make a decision for the release keep the current COVID-19 situation in mind.
Bunty aur Babli 2
Yash Raj Films ‘Bunty aur Babli 2’, which stars Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherji, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari will not be released in theatres anytime soon. The shooting for the film was wrapped up in September 2020. The makers are waiting for the situation to get better, before announcing a release date.
