This critically acclaimed movie, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, is considered to be one of the best performances of Aamir Khan. Set in the early 1890s, during the British Raj, Aamir played the lead character - Bhuvan in the film. His character was responsible for putting together a cricket team and teaching them the game.

 

This coming-of-age movie features Aamir starring as one of the lead characters in the main trio. He plays the son of a wealthy industrialist Akash Malhotra, who is a carefree and humorous individual. Aamir perfectly portrayed the transition of Akash from a prankster, slightly insensitive guy to a more serious person after he finds true love

 

Aamir played a wide-eyed young 25-year-old in the movie who agrees to act in a British film student’s documentary about India’s freedom fighter. Interestingly, the actor was initially not confident about playing the role of a 25-year-old while he was in his 40s. He also had a tutor to help him refine his Punjabi.

 

This was an interesting role in Aamir’s career as he had to play a man suffering from short-term memory loss after a tragic incident caused by the villain Ghajini. He does an excellent job of stepping into the character's shoes and portraying his anger over his lost love.

 

This fond character will live on in our memories forever, especially his iconic phrase, “Aal Izz Well”. As a college student, he was curious, free and thoughtful which showed us that it’s okay to question things. He made us rethink the way we approach education and gave an interesting take on it.
