Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra arrested
In a shocking development, businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was arrested by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police in a case relating to the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps on Monday night (July 19, 2021).
Mumbai CP in a press statement stated, "There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in Feb 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidences regarding this. The investigation is in progress please."

Raj Kundra and bitcoins controversy
Raj Kundra's name also surfaced in an alleged bitcoin case. He was reportedly accused of money laundering and fraud. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) also began an investigation as Raj was accused of being involved with the Gainbitcoin company which was part of fraud of Rs. 2 thousand crore.
Raj Kundra's divorce from first wife Kavita Kundra
Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty tied the knot in 2009 after he divorced his first wife Kavita. Earlier, this year in June, Raj Kundra in an interview with Pinkvilla opened up on his first wife, "In a candid conversation, he told the entertainment portal that his first wife Kavita sold her soul during the divorce by blaming actress Shilpa Shetty when she herself was the reason why their marriage ended.
"We were living in one house with my mum, dad and my sister and her husband had moved over from India to try and settle in the UK. She grew very close to my ex-brother in law spending more and more time with him especially when I was out on business trips. Many of my family and even my driver would say we sense something fishy between these two and I would never believe it. I gave my ex-wife the benefit of doubt. I did everything I possibly could for both sides of the family because for me my side or her family is family, a principle I still follow today, " he further said.
Raj Kundra-Shilpa Shetty named in 'gold scam'
Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra were named in an alleged scam concerning the Satyug Gold Pvt. Ltd, a gold trading company of which they are ex-directors. A Non-Resident Indian businessman, currently in Mumbai, Sachiin J Joshi claimed in a police complaint that he was reportedly lured and then cheated by SGPL's 'Satyug Gold Scheme', launched around 2014.
Joshi has lodged a criminal complaint of cheating, fraud, and other charges against Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra and officials of SGPL such as Ganpati Chaudhary, Mohammed Saifi, and others with the Khar Police Station in Mumbai. SGPL was formerly known as Avyaan Gems & Jewellery Pvt Ltd with its offices in Bandra Kurla Complex.
Raj Kundra's betting controversy
The former Rajasthan Royals co-owner was also involved in the infamous Indian Premier League (IPL) betting scandal, for which he was banned for life from cricket activities. However, Kundra in 2018 had filed a petition in Supreme Court after Delhi Police gave him a clean chit for the same.
Kundra and then ICC chief N Srinivasan’s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan were found guilty of betting in the IPL matches, following which the duo was suspended from any kind of cricketing events for life. His team Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings were also suspended from the lucrative T20 league for two years.
