This year’s Deepotsav is particularly special, marking the first celebration since the sacred 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s temple, drawing massive crowds and visitors from across the country.
The event saw over 25 lakh diyas placed along the banks of the Saryu River, creating a spellbinding view. The rows of lamps lit up the riverbanks, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. The spectacle left attendees awestruck, reinforcing the festival’s message of unity and harmony. The diyas, flickering in unison, created a mesmerizing display visible from far and wide.
An aerial view of Ayodhya's Deepotsav celebration revealed a vast sea of lights as lakhs of diyas illuminated the banks of the Saryu River. The radiant display, with diyas twinkling as far as the eye could see, cemented Deepotsav 2024 as a breathtaking and historic event for all who witnessed it.
This year's Deepotsav also featured 18 vibrant tableaux that depicted the key events from Lord Ram's life. Created by the Information and Tourism Departments of Uttar Pradesh, these displays served to narrate the rich history of Lord Ram to attendees.
An unforgettable highlight of Deepotsav 2024 was the achievement of two Guinness World Records, presented to Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Shekhawat. The records set included the most people performing aarti simultaneously and the largest display of oil lamps. These recognitions have now placed Ayodhya's Deepotsav celebrations on the global stage, marking it as one of the largest festivals of light worldwide.
Adding to the spiritual fervor, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath performed the traditional aarti on the banks of the Saryu, infusing the event with a powerful sense of devotion. This ritual was performed in front of thousands of onlookers, who joined in the prayers and festivities.
