In charge & young: From Yogi Adityanath to Bhagwant Mann, 6 CMs under 50 - In pics

Yogi Adityanath (49) scripted history today as the monk-politician was sworn in for a second time after completing a full five-year term in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath to Adityanath in a grand ceremony in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national president J P Nadda and other high-profile guests.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, 46, took oath as the Uttarakhand CM for the second time on March 23. He has been awarded a second term by the BJP despite losing from his own Khatima seat which he had been winning since 2012.

48-year-old Bhagwant Mann is AAP's only CM under 50. Mann took oath as Punjab CM after AAP secured a landslide victory in the state by decimating Congress.

Pramod Sawant, 48, is all set to return as Goa CM for a second term and will once again become BJP's under 50 CMs. 

Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of veteran Congress leader YS Rajsekhara Reddy, had become the youngest CM of Andhra Pradesh at 46 when he took oath in 2019.

Hemant Soren was 38-years-old when he became Jharkhand CM in 2013 after his father Shibu Soren passed on the leadership baton of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to him.

National Conference leader Omar Abdulla in 2009 had become the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir at 38 years of age.

Akhilesh Yadav was 38 years old when he had taken oath as the Uttar Pradesh CM in 2012.
