Bagga was arrested in connection with case registered in Mohali

The Punjab Police had last month booked Bagga on the charges of making provocative statements, promoting enmity and criminal intimidation. The case was registered on a complaint of AAP leader Sunny Ahluwalia, a Mohali resident.

BJP leader Tajinder Pal Bagga in custody of Punjab Police

The Punjab police team bringing Bagga from Delhi to Mohali was stopped in Haryana's Kurukshetra and taken to a police station in Pipli.

On being asked why vehicles were held up, a Haryana police official said there was information that Bagga had been "forcibly" picked up from his residence. "We have to verify and crosscheck these things," he said, PTI reported.

Tajinder Pal Singh Baggas father alleges misbehaviour by Punjab police

Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga's father Preetpal Singh alleged that Punjab Police personnel punched him in the face and did not even allow his son to wear a turban while arresting him. 

A Delhi Police official said The Punjab cops did not inform the local police in the national capital before arresting Tajinder Bagga.

Delhi police files abduction case after Baggas arrest

The Delhi Police registered a case of kidnapping after BJP leader Tajinder Bagga was arrested by Punjab Police personnel earlier in the day. 

Meanwhile, Bagga was taken back to the national capital by the Delhi Police after the Haryana Police handed him over to them.

Shouldnt have been done: Haryana CM on Baggas arrest

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that the procedure wasn't followed in the case of Tajinder Bagga's arrest. "Political issues don't unfold like this. But forcing Punjab Police to pick up a political figure in this manner...there should at least be a little amiability. If enmity between political parties rises like this, there'll be problems. This shouldn't have been done," said Khattar.
