The districts include Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Maharajganj, Deoria, Basti, Kushinagar, Siddhartha Nagar, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ballia, Barabanki, Sitapur and Mau.

The relief commissioner said that as per remote sensing images from June 14, it was seen that 28,581-hectare area in Maharajganj and 2,674 hectares in Siddhartha Nagar are already under water. Since, it has been raining intermittently in these districts.

The landslide has completely devastated the river system near Tingri County of Rongxia City. There is a danger of flash floods here.

The Nepal Dolkha district administration has now issued a flood alert amid rising water levels in the areas of Nepal’s Terai and North Bihar rivers.

 

The administration has appealed to the people living on the banks of the Tamakoshi River in Dolkha to move to a safer place.

IMD has issued a rain alert across the country. For the next 3 to 4 days, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the areas of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim, East Uttar Pradesh, Northeast Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh.

Apart from this, there may be heavy rain in the coastal areas from Maharashtra to Kerala. In these, Konkan and Goa, Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka and Madhya Maharashtra may receive rain for the next 3 to 4 days. Of these, the coastal areas of Gujarat and Karnataka will have maximum impact.

 

The IMD has also predicted thunderstorms and storms in these states for the next two days.
