The nation is soaked is celebratory mood as Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day this year fall on the same day. Sisters tie the colourful thread, known as Rakhi to brothers, who pledge protection in return. The age-old practice is widely celebrated in the country and the festive fervour can be seen all across. Social media accounts are flooded with posts on Raksha Bandhan and Rakhi pictures where brothers and sisters have rejoiced this day in a special way. Brothers are also expected to present gifts to their sisters after they tie rakhi.
