PM Narendra Modi's Day 1 in Gujarat: Glimpses from his visit to Children Nutrition Park, Ekta Mall, Aarogya Van; in pics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ekta Mall in Kevadia, Gujarat and said that India’s rich textiles and handicrafts diversity is on display here. He added that it is a fitting tribute to Sardar Patel that Kevadia, which houses the ‘Statue of Unity’ also has such a centre that will further the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.' It is a unique store near the Statue of Unity where tourists can buy handloom and handicraft products from various states.

The two-storey air-conditioned complex is spread over 35,000 square feet and houses 20 emporia, said the government release.

The prime minister spent significant time at stalls selling traditional items from Jammu and Kashmir and the North-East. He showed keen interest in the processes involved in making them, an official said.

 

PM Modi said, "Glad to see Kevadia emerge as a vibrant place for tourism. During my visit today, inaugurated the Aarogya Van, which contains exhibits relating to nature."

 

The PM said, "Sharing some glimpses from the Children Nutrition Park, which was inaugurated today in Kevadia." 

Aarogya Van also showcases traditional forms of healing, be it Yoga and Ayurveda.

 

PM Modi said, "In Gandhinagar, went to the residence of late Shri Keshubhai Patel and paid tributes to him."

The park seeks to harness technology in order to spread awareness on nutrition and healthcare.

PM Modi, accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, visited several emporia.

 

The PM said, "The Fly High Indian Aviary would be a treat for those interested in birdwatching."

PM Modi also said, " Come to Kevadia and visit this aviary, which is a part of the Jungle Safari Complex."

The Prime Minister stated that a visit to the Fly High Indian Aviary will be "a great learning experience".

PM Modi flagged-off the 'Ekta Cruise Service' - ferry boat service from Shrestha Bharat Bhavan to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia.
