Trupti Desai detained in Nashik, here's all about social activist who is known for breaking social taboos

Maharashtra government, on Tuesday (December 3), banned activist Trupti Desai from entering Shirdi citing law and order.

Trupti Desai is an Indian social activist and the founder of the Bhumata Brigade and Bhumata Foundation a Pune-based organization.

Desai was born in Nipani taluka in the Indian state of Karnataka on December 12, 1985.

Trupti and the brigade has campaigned to get an entry for women to religious places like the Shani Shingnapur Temple, the Haji Ali Dargah, the Mahalakshmi Temple, the Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple in Maharashtra.

Last year in November, the activist had also claimed that woman had the right to enter the Sabarimala shrine.
