New Railway Ticket Concession Rules 2024: Indian Railways Offers 75 Percent Discount To THESE Passengers; Check Full List

Indian Railways offers discounts to certain individuals during train journeys, including students and patients with specific illnesses, as well as persons with disabilities.

The railway provides concessions to passengers with disabilities, those who are mentally challenged, and fully visually impaired individuals who cannot travel without assistance, offering them discounts of up to 75% in General Class, Sleeper, and 3AC.  

In 1AC and 2AC, these passengers are eligible for a 50% discount. In premium trains like Rajdhani and Shatabdi, they receive a 25% discount on 3AC and AC Chair Car.  

An escort traveling with disabled individuals also receives the same discount on their train ticket. 

Passengers who are completely unable to speak or hear get a 50% discount on train tickets. Their escort is also entitled to the same discount.  

Patients suffering from various diseases, including cancer, thalassemia, heart conditions, kidney diseases, haemophilia, tuberculosis, AIDS, ostomy, anaemia, and aplastic anaemia, also receive discounts on train tickets.

According to the rules, students are provided relief in train fares. Students traveling to their hometown or on educational tours can get discounts ranging from 50% to 75% in different classes of trains.
