Babar Azam: From alleged love affair to cricketing journey, know unknown facts about Pakistan captain

Azam was appointed as captain to lead Pakistan in ICC U-19 World Cup in 2012. Azam was the leading run-scorer for Pakistan with 287 runs from six matches at 57.40 and second highest run-scorer overall in the tournament. Pakistan reached quarter-final of the tournament where they were beaten by India by one-wicket.

A woman named Hamiza Mukhtar accused Babar of luring her into the trap of marriage and then exploiting her. She was quoted as saying in Dawn News that she got pregnant with Babar's baby but he got her abortioned, in 2015. 

Not many know this fact about Babar Azam that he is first cousin of famous Pakistan cricketers Kamran and Umar Akmal. Not just that, Babar has himself said that he has been helped a lot by his cousins at home.

Babar made his international debut in the third ODI against Zimbabwe at Lahore in May of 2015. He batted number 4 and scored 54 off 60 balls, which included 4 sixes.

Babar made his Test debut against West Indies in October 2016 in a day-night encounter, becoming only the second cricketer to do so after Mitchell Santner. Along with him, Mohammad Nawaz also made his debut in the same Test.
