It was a tough outing for John Cena at this year's pay per view event WWE SummerSlam as the former WWE champion failed to make a lasting impact on his fans. Cena, who made a rousing return at Money In The Bank this year, fell in most part of the main event match against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, something which was also acknowledged by the commentator during the fight. However, the night soon turned out to be much worse for Cena as Brock Lesnar, who made a shocking return and confronted Reigns after his match, took down the former WWE champion with German Suplex and F5. WWE Summerslam 2021 left the fans amazed as Brock Lesnar made a return to the company as The Beast straightaway made his intentions clear about the Universal title, which is currently held by Roman Reigns. Apart from Lesnar, Becky Lynch too made a comeback to the ring after a gap of over 1.5 years. The Man, who went on an indefinite break after handing the Raw Women's title to Asuka, marked her return on a stellar note and went on to become the new SmackDown Women's champion after defeating Bianca Belair in less than a minute. Sasha Banks, who was originally matched up against Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women's Championship, gave the pay per view event a miss. In the absence of Banks, WWE gave Carmella the opportunity to replace her. However, Becky Lynch then interrupted the proceedings and challenged Blair for the title and won it. (Source: Twitter)

The contest between Goldberg and Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship title was called off midway by the referee, which saw the latter retain the title. However, what followed next after the clash left Goldberg in warning as he heard sending warning notes such as 'I'll kill you' to both Lashley and Paul Heyman following the contest.

After the match was called off with Goldberg not being able to stand due to an injury on his knee, Lashley launched a scathing attack on the WWE Hall of famer, which saw Goldberg's son join the action. However, Lashley soon after taking down Goldberg, Lashley also took down his son, thus possibly giving rise to an interesting feud. (Source: Twitter)

Edge took the WWE universe on a nostalgic ride as he revived The Brood's classic entrance for his much-anticipated clash against Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam.

The Brood were hailed by many during the Attitude Era, much of the credit goes to their entrance music and fiery arrival for their matches.

On Saturday, "The Rated-R Superstar" was standing in a middle of ring of fire after arriving in the arena on a rising platform. (Source: Twitter)
