India beat Australia by 13 runs: Bring an end to their 7-match losing streak

India brought an end to their 7-match losing streak (all formats) - they had lost the previous two ODI's and before that, they had lost the two-match Test series 2-0  against New Zealnd in February - the two Tests being India's final games before an extended hiatus owing to the coronavirus.

India also ended a 5-match ODI losing streak, they had been whitewashed 3-0 by New Zealand in the ODI series in the same tour.

Virat Kohli completes 12,000 ODI runs

India Skipper Virat Kohli, completed 12,000 runs in ODI’s as he completed his 23rd run.

Kohli became just the 6th player in the history of the game to complete 12,000 runs in ODI’s.

Virat Kohli breaks Sachin Tendulkar's record

Virat Kohli became just the 6th player in the history of the game to complete 12,000 runs in ODI’s.

He also broke the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record of being the fastest player to reach the 12,000 mark – doing so in just his 242nd innings (251st match).

The iconic Sachin had reached the mark in his 300th innings (309th ODI) - so Kohli broke the record by some distance.

Hazlewood dismisses Virat Kohli for third consecutive time this series

For the third consecutive time in the series, Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood dismissed Virat Kohli.

It was a peculiar dismissal - caught behind, which wasn't appealed by Hazlewood himself. 

Skipper Aaron Finch successfully took the review amidst the shouts from keeper Carey.

Hardik Pandya- Ravindra Jadeja's record 6th wicket stand

Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja's partnership was the highlight of the day. The duo added 150 runs for the 6th wicket - to create two impressive records.

This was India's highest ever sixth wicket partnership against Australia.

This was also the the highest 6th wicket or lower partnership in Australia.

Australia had played a total of seven matches (all formats) at Canberra before this game and had never lost against any opposition.

Debutant T Natarajan, took his maiden international wicket – provided the opening breakthrough, removing the makeshift opener Labuschagne.

Later in the game, Natarajan also took the wicket of Ashton Agar, finishing with figures of  10-1-70-2.
