Rahul Tewatia dismissed the dangerous looking Shane Watson in the 7th over of CSK innings to open the gates for RR to grasp the victory. He followed it up with two wickets in his second over. Sam Curran hits two sixes off Tewatia but the leg-spinner anticipated Curran coming down the track and bowled one slightly short and got him out stumped.

Debutant Ruturaj Gaekwad was the next man in and charged down the track on his very first delivery and got out in the exact same fashion. Samson had two stumpings to his name.

Sanju Samson (74 off 32 balls; 4x1, 6x9) went for the big-shots straightaway. He played his game - see the ball hit the ball. Half-volleys from Piyush Chawla and Ravindra Jadeja only made it easier for Samson. Samson hit 9 sixes in his innings and middled the ball beautifully. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals. MS Dhoni announced that their last match's man of the match, Ambati Rayudu, is not playing as he is not  100%.
