Defending champions Australia will look to get off to the perfect start when they take on Afghanistan in their opening game of the 2019 World Cup at the County Ground in Bristol on Saturday. While Afghanistan are no match for Australia on paper, they will take confidence from their win against Pakistan in the warm-up encounter.

David Warner and Aaron Finch struck fifties to help Australia thrash Afghanistan by seven wickets at the Bristol County Ground on Saturday

30 overs gone and Australia are cruising, with David Warner unbeaten on 76. 

Finch`s and Warner`s 96-run stand was finally broken by skipper Gulbadin Naib in the 17th over as he sent back Finch (66) to the pavilion.

Afghanistan bowled out for 207 runs against Australia in the fourth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the County Ground, Bristol on Saturday. Najibullah's 51 provided the backbone of the innings, while Rashid and Mujeeb supplied some entertaining late hitting to drag their side past 200.

Afghanistan made a comeback in the clash following the loss of early wickets after a fine show by pace bowlers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins early on. Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah stitched a fine partnership to help bring up the team 50 in the 13th over. 

Adam Zampa made his presence felt for Australia with a three-wicket haul against Afghanistan, building on his excellent performances for his side in the warm-up clashes and recently concluded international tournaments.  

Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib won the toss and elected to bat first. The following players were selected in the line-up for Afghanistan's opening clash of the ICC World Cup 2019 against Australia: Mohammad Shahzad(w), Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib(c), Rashid Khan, Dawlat Zadran, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Hamid Hassan.
