Eoin Morgan-led England will look to continue their winning momentum when they take on West Indies in the 19th match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup 2019 at The Rose Bowl, Southampton on Friday.While England have two wins from three games they have played so far, West Indies have just one victory from three opening matches. The Caribbean side's last clash against South Africa was abandoned due to rain.

Good start from England

England are off to a good start as they conceded just two runs to the West Indies in as many overs in their fourth clash of the quadrennial event. 


Chris Woakes strikes

Chris Woakes gave an early breakthrough to England by bowling out  Evin Lewis for two runs off a full delivery in the third over. 




Jason Roy has been forced to leave the field due to an injury midway during England's ICC World Cup 2019 clash against West Indies. 


Chris Gayle departs

Chris Gayle departed for 36 runs off 41 deliveries as he attempted to go for a big shot off a short ball from  Plunkett in the 13th over, but ended up giving a good catch to Jonny Bairstow.  


Shai Hope departs

Shai Hope fell for 11 after a leg-before-wicket appeal by Mark Wood was further backed by a successful review by Eoin Morgan in the 14th over. 


Joe Root strikes

Joe Root came to ball an over and he removed Shimron Hetmyer for 39 after taking a return catch on the fifth delivery off the 30thover. 



Nicholas Pooran slams 50

West Indies' Nicholas Pooran brought up his maiden half-century off just 56 deliveries during his side's ICC World Cup 2019 clash against England. 


Jofra Archer strikes twice

Jofra Archer celebrates after bagging two wickets on successive deliveries. The England bowler removed Nicholas Pooran and Sheldon Cottrell for 63 and duck, respectively. 


West Indies bowled out for 212

Jofra Archer (three for 30) and Mark Wood (three for 18) ripped through West Indies batting line-up to bundle the Caribbean side out for 212 in their stipulated 50 overs.

Joe Root opens the batting for England for the first time in the white-ball cricket as the Eoin Morgan-led need 213 runs against West Indies to win the ICC World Cup 2019 match.

England batsman Joe Root struck a half-century off 50 balls during his side's chase of 213 runs against West Indies. 


Joe Root hits 100

Joe Root became the first Englishman to score three World Cup centuries. He reached the three-figure mark off 93 balls.
