Shah Rukh Khan made his debut in Rishi Kapoor starrer 'Deewana' and since then there has been no looking back. The newcomer received the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for his performance. SRK had earlier ventured into TV and had appeared on DD National show Fauji (1989).

The Badshah of Bollywood's personal love story is no less than his memorable romantic films. Shah Rukh was head over heels in love with Gauri and was not even threatened when her brother Vikrant kept him at a gun point before marriage.  In a book, titled ‘King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema’, film critic and author Anupama Chopra reveals interesting details about his personal love story. An excerpt from the book reads, “Vikrant (Gauri's brother) had a reputation of being a goonda (thug). He threatened Shah Rukh with a gun, but the posturing didn’t scare his sister’s suitor.”

Shah Rukh and Gauri married on October 25, 1991 and at that time the superstar had just started his career.

A devoted fan of Shah Rukh from Australia keeps buying him a piece of land on the moon from the Lunar Republic Society on his birthday every year. The superstar owns several acres of land on The Sea of Tranquility which is one of the most sought-after addresses on the moon.

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's friendship goes back a long way. Did you know in 1998 during Zee Cine Awards, SRK handed over his Best Actor Award to Salman Khan.  "“ I am going to call on the stage a gentleman who is going to thank everyone else on my behalf because he (Salman Khan) feels I get all the awards and he doesn’t get it," Shah Rukh said on the stage while calling up Salman. The Karan - Arjun Jodi had a fallout for some time in the past but the two patched up for good. In fact, Salman Khan was the first one to pay SRK a visit after Aryan Khan was arrested in an alleged drugs case.

In 2014, Shah Rukh Khan was the only Indian celebrity to make it to the 'Wealth-X' list of the top ten wealthiest Hollywood and Bollywood personalities by beating stars like Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp.

SRK came second on the list. While comedian Jerry Seinfeld topped the chart and Tom Cruise was on number 3.

Shah Rukh Khan has been felicitated with the status equivalent of Knighthood in Malaysia and has received an honorary degree in recognition for his acts of philanthropy, altruism, and humanitarianism and his global reach as an actor, from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Shah Rukh Khan's all-time biggest blockbuster Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge was a result of SRK wanting to do a film offered to him by his friend Aditya Chopra. SRK did not even read the script of the movie before saying yes to Adi.
