IPL 2022: Five uncapped Indian batters who are ahead of Virat Kohli in Orange Cap race

Tilak Varma is probably Mumbai Indians' only silver lining of the season. The 19-year-old is playing his debut season in the cash-rich league. So far, the left-hand batsman has hit 272 in eight IPL games with an extraordinary average of 45. He is ranked seventh on the Orange Cap list. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore's all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed, who bats at number five or six depending upon the situation of the match, has scored 195 runs in nine matches so far. He is averaging 32.50 in the season. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad showed great faith in young Abhishek Sharma and handed him the responsibility of opening the batting. The decision paid rich dividends as he has scored 285 runs in eight games so far with a staggering strike rate of 131.33. 

Rahul Tripathi is one of the most underrated players in the history of IPL. Surprisingly, Rahul is yet to make his international debut.  Batting at number 3 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, the talisman has scored 228 runs in eight games this season. 

Rahul Tewatia's job at his new franchise is simple, bat at a strike rate above 150 and finish the game for Gujarat Titans. Rahul has done it twice now in eight games. The southpaw has scored just 136 runs this season but most of them came in the last over of the match.
