United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Saturday (May 29, 2021) married his fiancee Carrie Symonds at Westminster Cathedral in a low-key and surprise ceremony.
The event was not announced in advance and media reports claimed that guests were invited at the last minute to the Roman Catholic cathedral in central London.

Boris Johnson's office confirmed on Sunday that the UK Prime Minister and Symonds married Saturday afternoon in a small ceremony at Westminster Cathedral.
"The couple will celebrate their wedding with family and friends next summer," it informed.

Media reports said that even senior members of Boris Johnson's office were not aware of the wedding plans.
The ceremony had to be low-key as weddings in England are currently limited to 30 people due to COVID-19-induced restrictions.
