Terror suspect, accused of transferring funds to ISIS, arrested in Chennai by Rajasthan ATS
A terror suspect, accused of transferring funds to the dreaded terror outfit ISIS, was arrested by the Rajasthan Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Chennai early Tuesday.
Jaipur: A terror suspect, accused of transferring funds to the dreaded terror outfit ISIS, was arrested by the Rajasthan Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Chennai early Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as Haroon, has been taken to Jaipur for further inquiry.The team arrested him after other suspects, (Jamil Ahmed and Mohammad Iqbal) who are already in ATS custody, identified him.
Last month, Karnataka-born ISIS operative Mohammed Shafi Armar was declared global terrorist by US Treasury Department, Washington`s strict sanctions blacklist.
His name has now been added to the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department which enforces economic sanctions programmes, primarily against countries and groups of individuals, such as terrorists and narcotics traffickers.
