Kochi: Megastar Mohanlal, who won the Special Jury Award today at the 64th National Film Awards, expressed happiness over commercially successful movies being considered for the honour.

"It is a great thing," he said, elated over the jury's consideration of his acting in a Telugu movie (Janatha Garage) along with his Malayalam movies for the award. Mohanlal won the Special Jury Award for his roles in films, including 'Pulimurugan','Mundhirivallikal Thalirkkumbol' (Malayalam) and 'Janatha Garage', which were box-office hits.


"It's a great recognition for these movies," he said when it was pointed out that the jury considered his acting in commercially successful movies for giving him the award. "Awards come unexpectedly. Certainly, I accept the award with all humility," Mohanlal told reporters at the set of his new Malayalam movie, directed by B Unnikrishnan.


He said his hit movie "Pulimurugan" which entered the Rs 100 crore club. Was produced with the dedication of all the crew associated with it. Mohanlal hailed Peter Hein for the National Award in Stunt Choreography for his work in 'Puli Murugan', in which he played the lead role.


"I am very happy. Peter Hein has got many awards in other languages. He did exceptionally well in this movie (Pulimurugan)," Mohanlal said.
