Russian cargo craft `Progress MS-05` docks to space station - Watch

NASA says, the unpiloted Russian Progress 66 resupply ship will dock to the station`s Pirs docking compartment at 3:34 a.m. Friday, February 24.

New Delhi: Russian cargo spacecraft Progress MS-05, orbited earlier on Wednesday,  docked to the International Space Station (ISS) on Friday.

As per NASA, the unpiloted Progress 66 Russian cargo ship, traveling about 250 miles over the south Pacific, docked at 3:30 a.m. EST to the Pirs Docking Compartment of the space station just one day after SpaceX Dragon ship arrived.

Progress, packed with almost three tonnes of various supplies, including fuel, water and air, as well as research equipment, medicines and hygiene products for the astronauts in the orbit, was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at (11:58 a.m. Baikonur time) on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

Progress 66 will remain docked at the station for almost four months before departing in June for its deorbit into Earth’s atmosphere.
