New Delhi: Much to the delight of cricket fans in the city, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) is contemplating over building a brand new stadium between Dwarka and Najafgarh.

According to a report in The Times of India, the DDCA has a budget of Rs 150 crore and the project is likely to be completed by 2020.


“DDCA will have a new stadium near Dwarka. Talks are on and we are going to start the project after identifying the land,“ Manchanda told TOI on Tuesday . DDCA has a budget of Rs 150 crore for the stadium, expected to accommodate 50,000 people," DDCA's treasurer Ravinder Manchanda told the newspaper.


The report added that association officials are already in talks with the ministry of urban development -headed by Venkaiah Naidu -over the process of identifying and acquiring 10 acres or so of land required.


Meanwhile, renovation work is likely to take place at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
