Ajinkya Rahane has become a complete cricketer: Kapil Dev

Kapil said that when he first saw Rahane, he never thought he had so much ability.

New Delhi: India's maiden World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev seems quite impressed with Ajinkya Rahane as he not just heaped praise on the Mumbai batsman but also labelled him as a complete cricketer.

“You play one type of cricket, you get runs, that's fine. But when you start getting runs in different formats and different conditions and situations, then you can call someone a complete cricketer. And I think today Ajinkya Rahane has become a complete cricketer, " Kapil told The Time of India.

Former all-rounder even candidly stated: “When I first saw him, I never thought Ajinkya had so much ability. He keeps improving. He always surprises you with his performance. That’s his best ability.

Even former Indian batsman VVS Laxman also feels the same for Jinx as he came up with three important traits of Rahane's batting.

“He has a solid basic technique. He can be consistent in any conditions. He knows how to play the big shots. He is a very aggressive runner between the wickets. These three qualities make him a complete batsman, ” said the Hyderabadi.
