2 killed, 8 injured in accident
The mishap occurred when the jeep going to Paya Pauri from Balvakot area skidded and fell into the 150-meter deep gorge at Paya Mandir area.
Dehra Dun: Two persons were killed and eight others injured when a jeep in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Paya Mandir area of Pithoragarh district, official sources said on Sunday.
The mishap occurred on Saturday night when the jeep going to Paya Pauri from Balvakot area skidded and fell into the 150-meter deep gorge at Paya Mandir area, they said. The two passengers died on spot. The injured have been admitted to government hospital at Dharchula where condition of three is stated to be serious, they said. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna expressed grief over the accident and directed the district administration to provide best medical care to the injured.
