New Delhi: Cricket fans in India and Pakistan, there's more good news. Despite the existing road-blocks in the resumption of Indo-Pak bilateral cricket series, the neighbours will play each other, thanks to international tournament.

And the first of those encounters will be held in a month's time from today, on February 27 in the Asia Cup Twenty20 tournament. The match will serve as a perfect starter to the big one, the March 19 fixture of the World T20 2016.


It does provide an opportunity to the rivals to play multiple times – a possible final in the Asia Cup, and also a knock-out stage meeting in the World T20.


The schedule for the inaugural Asia Cup Twenty20, unveiled on Wednesday, has Team India playing their opening match against hosts Bangladesh on February 24.


After the Pakistan match, India play another Asian giants Sri Lanka, on March 1. India completes their league round with a match against the qualifier on March 3.


Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Oman and United Arab Emirates will take on each other in the qualifying stage and the topper will proceed to the next stage, to join the heavyweights.


The final will be held on March 5. All the matches will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.
