The left-hander scored 50 off 12 deliveries in his last innings for the Melbourne Renegades this season.

In doing so, he equaled Yuvraj Singh's record, which was set during the ICC World T20 in 2007.

Before leaving Australia, the Jamaican took a swipe at all those who criticized him in the wake of his controversial interview with presenter Mel McLaughlin.

Gayle posted an explosive note on Instagram to express his sentiments about the fiasco.

The Renegades fined Gayle US 7,000 on January 5 after an attempt to flirt with McLaughlin on live TV which cricket authorities condemned as "completely out of line".

Local media have made more lurid allegations of misconduct against Gayle, who is suing them.
