According to a report in the Times of India, Reham could have tried to poison Imran to grab his political legacy. Since the couple announced their split on October 30, this theory was brought up.

Pakistani journalist Arif Nizami revealed information about the attempted poisoning citing intelligence sources and this has been pretty interesting. Several speculative rumours have come to the limelight since the ex-couple didn't reveal the reasons behind their split.

Nizami told Pakistan's News 24 channel that Reham's intentions weren't right and that she tried to poison her husband to grab hold of his political power. "Intelligence agencies conveyed to Imran through his close friends that Reham's intentions were not right. It was feared she could poison Imran to grab his party's reigns.”

Earlier in September, Nizami had said that the couple had reached a point of no return and were about to part ways. The journalist further stated that Reham had made Imran's life hell and the decision to end the marriage was not mutual.

Further report states that, Nizami revealed that the couple had frequent fights. Imran was said to have emailed her the divorce notice much to her shock when she was in London.

Nizami also claimed that another Pak journalist Shahid Masood, tried dissuading Imran from marrying Reham.

He revealed that traces of rodent poison were found in Imran's body when he fell ill and was admitted to a hospital.

News about Reham lying about her previous marriage came to surface. Nizami stated that Reham had lied about her degree and domestic violence in her earlier marriage. "Her relation with Imran was based on lies and fraud. She kept Imran in the dark about her past life and falsely claimed her ex-husband use to beat her,'' said Nizami.
