Vishva Hindu Parishad has asserted it would go ahead with the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya from March 15 even if it leads to the fall of the Vajapyee government at the Centre. ''The construction of the temple is a matter of faith for the Hindu samaj which is prepared for all kinds of balidaan (sacrifice) to achieve its mission. We won't relent even if the BJP-led NDA government falls on the issue,'' VHP vice president Acharya Giriraj Kishore told newspersons in Kolkata.
Admitting that the VHP's construction plans could cause a crisis for the central coalition, he said ''For us, Bhagwan Ram comes first, then the BJP''.

Asked to clarify what he meant by crisis, Giriraj said ''Well, the government will have to spend extra energy by making additional police arrangements''.
Kishore disagreed with a questioner that the temple plans were put in place to give mileage to the BJP in the ongoing Assembly polls in four states. Bureau Report
