Gautam Gambhir suffered in hands of corrupt cricket administrators: Report
Gambhir stated that there is corruption in the administration.
New Delhi: Former India opening batsman Gautam Gambhir made a strong point on Saturday by stating his career suffered due to corrupt cricket officials.
According to a report in Cricket Country, Gautam Gambhir who attended the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2015 alongside Ian Chappell, Bishan Singh Bedi and Justice Mukul Mudgal, stated that there is corruption in the administration. He added that his career suffered due to some corrupt officials.
The Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi skipper pointed out many important aspects of how the present condition can be changed in the sport. He also said that the reformation must occur in the grass-root level that can lead to more changes.
Giving an example of football body FIFA, he said that they have hired many personnel to maintain the game but still there is corruption. According to Gambhir's opinion, Shashak Manohar and Anurag Thakur are doing great as administrators and they should be given ample time to take action.
Gambhir also felt that the BCCI should consider it a moral responsibility to support other sports in the country.
