The former Pakistan captain, who famously lead his team to World Cup victory in 1992 at the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground, is still regarded a lucky charm.

If reports are to be believed, the cricketer-turned-politician is also likely to visit Pakistan dressing room in Eden Gardens ahead of the match, in the hope to end their win-less streak against India in World Cups.

The March 19 group match, originally scheduled to be played at Dharamsala, was moved to Kolkata after threats to disrupt the proceedings from various Indian nationalists groups.

Khan was recently in India, and had met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit.

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain captain Shahid Afridi revealed that Imran Khan and Wasim Akram have agreed to motivate the team ahead of the India match.
