Waqar said that he did not find anything controversial about the comment and it should be left at that.

"For me, I did not find anything controversial in it. This is something he felt. It's his emotions. I believe we should leave it at that rather than creating a controversy out of nothing. We're here to play cricket, to beat teams. To focus on cricket is a better idea," Younis said on Tuesday.

The former Pakistan pacer said that he feels the side is capable of playing quality cricket for the nation.

"My message to the boys is just leave everything behind. This is about playing some quality cricket, playing for the nation. They all are capable."

Pakistan landed in India for the ICC World Twenty20 following a delay because of their government's security apprehensions. Afridi faced a lot of brunt back home with former captain Javed Miandad led the criticism saying that the Pakistani skipper should be ashamed of himself.

The veteran cricketer was served a legal notice for "committing treason" and "hurting sentiments" of Pakistanis.

Pakistan start their campaign against Bangladesh in a Super 10 Group 2 encounter at the Eden gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday.
