New Delhi: An hour after the International Cricket Council (ICC) shifted the venue for the much-awaited India-Pakistan match, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asked for an explicit security assurance for the team.

According to CNN IBN, the Pakistani board deferred the departure of its teams for India for Men, Women's World T20 events.


The report added that Pakistan now wanted a written assurance over the team's security for the prestigious tournament.


Earlier, ICC announced Eden Gardens as the new venue for the eagerly awaited match between the two rivals.


ICC chief executive David Richardson said that the new venue was announced keeping in mind Himachal Pradesh chief minister's concern over security for the marquee clash.
