Kochi: CPI-M leader MM Mani Tuesday filed a petition in the Kerala High Court seeking the quashing of a police complaint about his speech in which he claimed his party had killed political foes.
The party`s Idukki district secretary triggered a storm when he claimed May 25 that the Communist Party of India-Marxist had murdered four critics one by one, presumably in the 1980s.
Following his speech, the Kerala Police registered a case against him, charging him with murder.Mani promptly disappeared from view. On Tuesday, through his counsel, he approached the court stating various instances of cases where a closed case cannot be opened again.
