Stranded passengers protest, want to be airlifted
Over 800 Kashmir-bound passengers, stranded for the past 2 days at a bus stand, on Tuesday, staged a protest demanding that they should be airlifted.
Jammu: Over 800 Kashmir-bound passengers,
stranded for the past two days at a bus stand here after
closure of Jammu-Srinagar highway, on Tuesday, staged a protest and
demanded they should be airlifted.
The vital national highway remained closed for the second
consecutive day due to fresh snowfall and landslides along the
arterial route following which 1,000 vehicles were stranded.
Over 800 Kashmir-bound passengers, stranded at the bus
stand here for the last two days, protested against the state
government and demanded that they be airlifted to Kashmir
Valley.
They accused the authorities of failing to provide basic
facilities and making necessary arrangements for them. The
passengers also demanded food and lodging facilities.
