New Delhi: The all too public spat between Virat Kohli and Ben Stokes has become a silent one since the intervention of the International Cricket Council (ICC). But their animosity remained as intense as ever and on Monday, the India Test captain paid back to his English nemesis in style.

It all started with their day 1 fight after Parthiv Patel stumped Stokes off the bowling of Ravindra Jadeja. Kohli goaded Stokes as he walked back to the pavilion and on the way, the England batsman responded to the India skipper's sending off in an unacceptable way, earning a reprimand from the ICC.

But their duel was not over. Yesterday, Stokes had Kohli caught behind by Jonny Bairstow, and he performed his own sending-off of Kohli, by putting his hand over mouth.

Unluckily for him, Kohli was waiting for a pay back. And it happened sooner than later.

Today, on the third day of the Mohali Test, Ravichandran Ashwin trapped Stokes in front, and despite umpire's denial, Indian team successfully reviewed to send the English batsman back.

Then and there, Kohli, without wasting any second, imitated Stoke's gesture by putting his fingers to his lips. Here's the VIDEO, courtesy to the uploader:

With two more days' play left in the match, and another two Tests in the series still to be played, it's pretty safe to assume that these two firebrands will continue to 'hound' each other, covertly or overtly.
